Internet

  • All pages of the Internet bill that include the charges, as well as any explanations of the charges and discounts, must be attached.

  • Only the individual’s portion can be reimbursed.

    • Example: The Individual, their parents, and the Individual’s sibling (even if they are under the age of 18) live in the home. This is a total of 4 household members. The internet reimbursement must be divided by 4, and only 1/4 reimbursed, since that is the Individual’s portion.

    • For people living alone, the full amount can be reimbursed.

  • Devices and Hardware are not reimbursable.

    • Example: Router, Modem, or Altice Gateway cannot be reimbursed.

  • Enhancements to internet service can be reimbursed.

    • Example: Optimum’s “Network enhancement Fee” and Verizon “1 Gig”.

  • If internet is part of a package, only the cost of the internet service can be reimbursed.

    • Discounts for internet services must be deducted from the Internet charge.

  • Because Internet service is not subject to NY sales tax, taxes are not reimbursable.

  • Any Individual with an LIC needs to divide the internet bill in two, as two people live in the house. Please note, we cannot reimburse the other half to the LIC as only Utilities, Rent and Food can be…
