Board Stipend (Food Subsidy)

To be eligible for this Budget category, food stamps/SNAP must first be requested and be denied or approved and demonstrate that the benefit amount is insufficient to cover needs. The SNAP approval or denial letter will need to be submitted annually. Please reach out to the Care Manager if assistance is needed to apply for this benefit.

  • If SNAP is denied – the denial letter will need to be submitted for that year.

  • If SNAP is approved – a justification letter is needed annually and explain why the benefits amount is insufficient and does not meet the needs of the individual.

  • When OTPS Board Stipend (Food Subsidy) is added to the Budget for the first time or if funding is increasing the SNAP verification will need to be submitted with the budget change.

  • Only the individual’s portion can be reimbursed.

  • It is recommended to keep receipts for food and non-food items separate.
