Residential Habilitation Services (ResHab)
ResHab workers assist the individual
in achieving optimal independence in numerous
areas, including (but not limited to): motor
skills development, completing homework
tasks, mastering household chores, achieving
independence in the community, acquiring
social skills, ordering from a restaurant
menu or blowing bubbles in the swimming
pool. ResHab is geared to suit the individual's
particular needs and desires, and is frequently
reevaluated to ensure consumer goals are
being met.
Having
someone come into my home to work with Sara
is a real help. Thanks so much for everything,
we surely wouldn't manage without it!

Respite
Service
Respite provides the family with relief
from the obligation of ongoing day-to-day
care. This service is offered either in
the home of the person with a developmental
disability or in another environment, depending
on the desires of the family.
It
is such a relief to be able to leave my
daughter with special needs in the care
of a reliable person. Yedei Chesed helped
me find a Respite worker and I am grateful
to them for that. Now, I can find the time
to take care of some of my other obligations

Environmental Modifications
(E-MODS) And Adaptive Equipment
Many times an individual with a disability
requires home modifications to attain a
higher level of mobility, safety or independence.
Funding is available, on a limited basis,
to assist with bathroom modifications, wheelchair
ramps, home fencing systems and other such
modifications and equipment. Communication
devices and other financially prohibitive
adaptive equipment assist the person with
limited verbal communication to achieve
a heightened ability to express their wants
and needs.
We
recently moved and needed to install a ramp
near the stairs to enable our wheelchair
bound son access to our new apartment. My
service coordinator helped me receive funding
to help us with this expense
